I have been writing server software for about twelve years, the last six of them mostly in Go. Before that it was PHP, which I am not embarrassed about: it taught me more about operating other people's code than any language since.
This site is deliberately plain. It is static files on a small virtual
machine, served by nginx, with no build pipeline worth the name — a Makefile
that runs tar. That is partly taste and partly that every piece of
infrastructure I add is a piece I have to understand again in two years.
